posting from istanbul

Iv been 2.5 days in istanbul . very hectic agenda and no much time for fun
its going to be a short post because im exhausted and because the turkish keyboard is terrible.
Istanbul is a nice cosmopolitan city , strange mix of east and west , but beside the dark blue color of the bosfor , the colorful markets ,the tiny old roads and the huge high bridge connecting the european and the asian parts of the city , i was so excited and even touched to see the pictures of Ata turk covering the walls in istanbul . you can see him in presidential meetings , in military march and even dancing valse with his wife . the strong features of that man couldnt be but for a leader like himself , a leader who was powerful enough to change the concept of a whole nation and lead his country to civilization , you cant avoid getting distracted by the wild pride in his looks.
what excited me even more was watching the turkish women working in industry ,in the past 2 days i had the chance to visit few turkish factorys and i was delighted rather thrilled to see turkish women carrying tools in their hands and standing on industrial machines repairing or operating the machinery hand in hand with their male coleagues.
Back to cairo tomorow and happy to run away from the seduction of the food here..ohh its sooo good.

Ishtar,
Thanks for visiting. I was in istanbul recently and I fell in love with the city. It reminded me of Lebanese cities, Beyrouth and Tripoli, before the 1975 civil war. My heart was itching with nostalgia. It was actually a real physical sensation. Besides, the city makes your senses explode !
A pity you probably didn't make it in 2 and half days to haci Bekir's loukoums in the original store! This only in itself is quite an experience !
